SOFTECH Cluj-Napoca launches a new job position: software tester (manual). The job description, needed experience and competencies are described below. The job essentials are: proven software testing experience including Installation, Platform, Localization, Functionality, System, Regression and Usability testing.
Candidate Profile
Our future colleague is expected to like teamwork and to have good testing knowledge. This refers to the ability of writing quality test cases, of performing regression tests and maintaining bug reports with Jira. SDLC and Agile testing methodologies practice backed up by UNIX and SQL knowledge are somehow a plus. Another advantage may be good English skills. Technical studies are also much appreciated but are not a must-have for this job.
The Role
The job is based in Cluj-Napoca and is intended to assure compliance between the software product and the application design, on one hand, and to make sure that all implementations match the preset requirements. Nonconformities will be reported to the designated project team members.
Writing test cases, developing test procedures, bug reporting, bug database maintenance and regression testing are part of the manual software tester’s job. Test plan execution and execution log for each test run are also included in the responsibilities of the software tester.
Main Competencies and Abilities
Since detecting bugs and mismatches is such a huge part of the manual software’s job, dealing with ambiguous information and attention to detail is crucial. Being open and communicative is a premise for knowing when to look out for help and how to inform the team on the evolution of the project.
