Innovation is generally referred as introducing something NEW: a new process, a new method, a new solution, a new product. Innovation is also triggered by new problems: a combination of circumstances not met or not acknowledged before a given moment. At SOFTECH, Cluj-Napoca, we use to solve new problems with a technology-driven creative process.
The main steps of this a technology-driven creative process are outlined as follows:
1.Analyze the problem
Software nowadays solves a lot of our daily tasks. Should you look for improving a process, enriching a user experience or plainly solving a technical bottleneck in any activity it is time to pass this problem to the software engineers. They will document it, force it in alternative scenarios and imagine potential solutions.
2.Elaborate potential technology solutions
Drafting an effective solution to the given problems involves the following: an in-depth understanding of the situation, an attentive selection of the possible technologies and a holistic vision on the integrations and interactions. The efforts to test several potential technology solutions will be estimated.
3.Experiment and test
The next step is to design a few experiments and tests in order to filter among the proposed technology solutions. The process is accurately documented and prepared for analysis.
4.Structure and analyze the results
Before going into deeper development of new solutions and products, all the tests results ought to be structured by multiple criteria. The results will be interpreted and discussed in order to take a decision.
5.Define the technology solution
At this stage, the technology solution to be developed will be defined. The needed resources from all sides will be estimated, so that the actual development can start.
6.Build and implement
From now on, the team will take on the actual coding, integration, final testing and maintenance process. A new software product or a new software solution ought to be released.
