On September 20, our Softech │ Codespring representatives attended the first of the local networking events series organized by Transilvania IT Cluster in Cluj-Napoca, this autumn. Transilvania IT reunites the local innovation ecosystem with a clear goal of fostering collaboration and partnerships. The networking event welcomed delegates of major IT companies, startups, local universities and Cluj-Napoca Municipality.
Transilvania IT Networking Event
Welcoming around 50 representatives of Cluj-Napoca IT companies, Transilvania IT’s networking event started with detailing the cluster’s main activity and goals. The Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Mr. Emil Bioc, gracefully presented the actions and directions towards a smarter and greener city, calling out for local partnerships and community engagement.
Soon after, as an icebreaker for the discussion, a short pitching session followed. The audience got to learn more about those willing to actively find investors, partners or simply launch a sign of being open to cooperate.
The third part of the event was designed to facilitate business talks and idea sharing, around a tasty finger food and delicious local wine.
Cluj-Napoca: A Booster For Digital Innovation
With more than 1330 software development SMES and start-ups, Cluj-Napoca displays a heterogeneous market with high competition but also healthy complementarities. Transilvania IT technology cluster comprises around 150 companies, some of them being in the top ranks in terms of turnover and number of employees. A variety of investors and venture-capitalist initiate tech businesses in order to further expand on the global market, betting on the talent pool that this city constantly attracts.
The contribution through the efforts and activities in the area of innovation through digital transformation made within a specialized project – Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub, played a major role in selecting Cluj-Napoca as a finalist, among the top 6 european cities, in the competition organized by the European Commission, European Capital of Innovation – iCapital, back in 2020.
