In the summer of 2025, the students that had the chance to join our Codespring Mentoring Program, took part on the Summer Internship. During the internship, students were split in small teams of 2 or 3, to design and develop projects at their choice. Most of the teams – a total of six out of nine – were initiated in the mobile development process, gaining insight into the full lifecycle of a mobile application.
The integration of AI, IoT, blockchain, and even AR/VR features has significantly increased the “coolness” factor in these projects. Let us highlight some technologies and solutions used by the students! The most popular mobile apps used: workflow assistance and gaming features for XREAL AR glasses; remote control and automation of smart home devices using Sonoff hardware; a mobile tool for managing apiaries; a digital healthcare diary; an AI-enhanced mobile learning application and an indoor navigation app, using personalized content and BLE technology.
Why Is It Still Interesting Nowadays to Learn Mobile Development?

Our approach to mobile development follows a well-established yet flexible process, adapted to the complexity of each project. Although the time frame for each project was relatively short, the interns, guided by their mentors, experienced a professional, realistic mobile development process. - It is very useful to learn mobile development essentials because it helps junior developers to get used to with current technologies;
- The feedback loop is similar with on-the-job context; therefore, the student gets the grasp of basic working interactions.

Summer in Cluj-Napoca offers multiple entertainment opportunities: film and music festivals, such as TIFF, Jazz in the Park, Untold or Electric Castle, multicultural events, such as Ethnicity, Hungarian Cultural Days, museum nights, multiple sports events and so on.
Even if Târgu Mureș is a smaller city, it has a wealthy outdoor activities offer: the VIBE festival, popular in local communities, cosy terraces, the Weekend complex with open air activities, pools, and of course the Mureș river, on which kayaking and fishing are fun all summer long.
Further away, at Odorheiu Secuiesc the summer internship carries you in the mountains: hiking, bike tours, open-air gatherings with barbecue or cooking, wild camping and folk music and dancing camps are the preferred activities among our colleagues.
