Last week, the delegates of our software development team from Cluj-Napoca – Softech │ Codespring, have successfully attended MWC Barcelona 2022, the leading mobile and connectivity event in the world. Even if the event was literally muted by the recent Ukrainian – Russian conflict, this year’s edition of MWC Barcelona proved to be a great physical come back of the world-class tech community.
Mobile technology has been at the forefront of innovation for over three decades! Over the years we have literally witnessed how the connectivity industry offers the world new opportunities, new revenue streams, new landscapes and even new vocabulary. We were optimistic and happy to be part of the Romanian IT Pavilion during the MWC Barcelona 2022.
MWC Barcelona 2022 In Numbers
Over 61,000 physical attendees joined the industry’s largest and most influential connectivity event. Around 1900 exhibitors, experts, iconic brands and participants from 183 countries and territories were present at the fair in 2022. There were 46 country pavilions showcased across the halls of the exhibition, among which we count the Romania IT Pavilion organized by ARIES Timișoara and supported by the Romanian Ministry of Entrepreneurship and the Romanian Ministry of Tourism.
Our Participation at MWC Barcelona 2022

The Romanian pavilion was located in Hall 5, stand 5E61. Our Softech │ Codespring booth received visitors from Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Hungary, Germany, Netherlands, France, USA, Greece, Turkey, UAE, Pakistan, South Africa and many more. Some business representatives were very well informed about Romania and especially Cluj-Napoca, some were simply curious of our IT sector.
We were happy to discuss about IoT Development, DevOps, Mobile application development and software ecosystems development and integration.
A Few Take-Home Ideas from MWC Barcelona 2022
The lead theme of the year – Connectivity Unleashed – covered many interesting expert talks and topics. We have assisted the launch of novel technologies, equipment and devices. The momentum leading into MWC22 was solid, and we will witness the next wave of technology capable to re-shape industry and society.
- Security: The hot topic of MWC 2022 was definitely security of networks, of systems and of people.
- The New Age of Connectivity: is characterized by both evolution and revolution, as one can see it at the exhibiting companies – from large global innovators to young, small start-up disruptors.
- Intelligent Innovation and Automation: happens everywhere and at a faster pace than in previous years. The norm is changing.
- Creating Creators That Create Content: in the internet of everything era, we have to acknowledge today that we are providing the tools for everyone to become a content creator. We, as a society, must be ready for this shift.
