SISY 2024, the IEEE 22nd International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics took place on September 19-21, in the city of Pula, Croatia. SOFTECH │ Codespring team is proud to announce that the students enrolled in our Codespring Mentoring Programme was once again present at the symposium with interesting scientific papers. This edition was organized by the Óbuda University from Budapest, Hungary, Subotica Tech from Serbia, University North from Croatia, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula from Croatia and the IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Computational Cybernetics. The scientific committee of more than 70 scientists, professors and lecturers made an impressive selection of research papers to be accepted in the symposium. Congrats everyone for the effort and let’s learn more about the proceedings of SISY 2024, in the lines below.
The Scope of SISY 2024
The scope of SISY 2024 symposium was to offer researchers an opportunity to extend their existing scientific relationships all over the world in the field of Intelligent Systems. The organizers hope each year, that researchers and lecturers working at various academic and technology institutions will find common research areas at the conference, in order to build cooperation on bilateral or international projects.
This year, the papers were presented in the welcoming rooms of “Dr. Mijo Mirković” Faculty of Economics and Tourism, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Croatia.
SISY 2024 Topics
The wealthiness of topics covered by the International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics opens the doors for more inter-disciplinary cooperation in the field! This year, we were impressed by the 10 sessions organized on the following themes:
- Computational Intelligence: Machine Learning, Genetic Algorithms, Neural Nets, Fuzzy Systems, Fuzzy and Neuro-Fuzzy Control, Knowledge Based Systems, Expert Systems
- Intelligent Robotics: Control, Flexible Arm Control, Perception and Recognition, Reasoning, Learning, Robotic Systems, Human-Robotic Interaction, Service Robots, Surgery Robots, Machine Vision
- Intelligent Mechatronics: Sensing and Sensor Data Fusion, Motion Control, Intelligent Actuators

Different Perspectives
“SISY 2024 conference was a great ending of our mentoring adventure, which we have been on for the past two years, alongside our university schedule. On the occasion of the presentations of our work, which included our own summer internship project, we were able to learn about the work of other students and professionals, which helped us to put our own project in a broader perspective” said one of our students, Peter, summing up his experience.
“The positive feedback received during the application process confirmed that my research was relevant and valuable. As a student, I was particularly honored to be part of such a high quality professional event, which is not only for students but also for the wider scientific community. The acceptance of our research has shown that the work we put in really counts, whether I am a student or an experienced professional” added Ákos. He also added that he was truly proud that his project was one of the first in his technology field.
“The conference was particularly important for me. As a mentor I have been working for over a year, and this was my first international presentation and first publication of a scientific paper.” declared Zsolt, a young mentor from our team.
In A Nutshell
SISY 2024 was another milestone in our Codespring Mentoring Program. We are proud of both students and their mentors for the results and the topics they have bravely approached. We thank our academic partners Babeș-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca and Sapientia The Hungarian University of Transylvania for our long-term collaboration.
At SOFTECH │ Codespring, we see each research paper as an opportunity to foster innovation and discover new technology applications. It may seem a minor aspect of a software development company, but it is actually one of the foundations of technology advances and progress.
