Why is The Romanian IT Market Attractive for UK Businesses?

On the other hand, we also observed how little did business people know about Romania. Having a national pavilion and our own SOFTECH stand, we had the immense opportunity to share information about Romania, about Transylvania region and about Cluj! Let’s count a few key aspects that matter for UK Businesses willing to find a partner in Romania.

  • Accessible top-tier tech workforce. With almost 30000 IT companies across the country and around 250000 IT professionals, Romania is an important IT hub delivering relevant competencies and new HR pool for tech industries. For English proficiency, Romanians rank 12th worldwide and 10th in Europe according to DevData platform.
  • Faster time-to-market. Given the overlapping work-hours and the time-zone proximity, real time coordination is possible and 24/7 workflow is achievable. Working mostly in an Agile manner, IT professionals and software developers in Romania can help your business achieve higher speed across the development, deployment and launch processes.
  • Significant cost advantages. Based on the average cost of living and income statistics, Romania can still provide between 50-60% overall cost savings per IT and software development project. In addition to that, all administrative costs are lower in Eastern Europe than in Western Europe.
  • Proven quality in niche sectors. Even if for some is already a known fact, we must recall that Romanian IT professionals have a good reputation for specific domains where they excelled: cybersecurity, AI, cloud computing and industry 4.0.
  • EU compliance foundation. As an EU member, Romania adheres to European regulations and can ensure compliance for those UK firms targeting EU markets. Shared cultural compatibilities reduce the friction during most collaborations.
