What a better way to boost your student holidays than by joining SOFTECH’s software development internships in Cluj-Napoca? With a solid reputation counting 15 years of high quality software development mentoring and training, SOFTECH continues its’ Codespring Summer Internship series in each office from Transylvania, Romania. Cluj-Napoca team will host a group of 9 students in computer science and informatics from the top ranked university in Romania: Babeș-Bolyai University.

Research Topics and Tech Themes
In order to make the software development internship catchy for the young generation, our mentors came up with tech topics and themes that are in trend. They also tried to facilitate the link between real needs and solution proposal, so that each student gets a glimpse of the joys offered by a successful software app implementation. The summer of 2025 puts forward research themes covering augmented reality (AR), GDPR management processes, home automation and event management processes.
- AR Glasses: Using the lightest spatial computing glasses for developers, the challenge will be to programme them for 3D object recognition and create a quality immersive experience for its users. There are many potential applications suitable for the AR glasses, therefore we are very curious what our student team will come up with!
- GDPR Easy: An application targeting corporate users, aiming to simplify the complexities of GDPR from a marketing and PR perspective. The actual solution proposal and development will be revealed at the end of the summer internship.
- The Smart Home App: Using a diverse range of Sonoff devices, the students will have to deliver a modern smart home app. This project challenges young programmers to automate various operations in a contemporary home with the help of DIY smart switches, control panels, wall switches, security devices, sensors and smart plugs. Looking forward for the final results at the end of the internship!
- The Other Side of the Cube: An app aiming to manage in one-place events, news and media for a local student association. Even though there are many available solutions on the market, we are curious what our software interns will bring to the table!
